DisFUNKion(al) Deep Underground House Tent June 2006

Well the music wasn't live in our tent- but the crowd certainly was!

Friday night went off big time with Dom Murray warming up from seven thirty to good reception. Then with the tent almost full at 9PM Marv Hollywood took the controls for a six hour journey through deep tribal funk which was lapped up by a hyped up crowd. The tent still rammed at 3AM, the music was stopped to massive cheers and Marv gave them another four last tunes before calling it a night leaving them wanting more.
This was the most powerful Friday I have witnessed in the underground tent in the five festivals since June 04, with the crowd leaving it all out there!

Saturday afternoon was taken care of by Scott and Mooch with some hip-hop funk and soul. Another masterful display of scratching by Scott whilst mooch layered in the beats got everyone in the mood once again.
Dom played a diverse set which produced some crazy jazz steppin' moves on the dance floor and then Thimbleberry debut for Toddy who played an 90 min well mixed set of funky techy grooves which lead us up to 930pm and a still recovering Hollywood stepped up. after such a big Friday I took it easy on the crowd (and myself!) to start with, keeping it all deep summery and soothing. slowly evolving into another rump shakin' tribal/tech house hoedown which the slightly damaged crowd locked on to til 2.30am. Dom gave me a break at 2.30am then I finished 3-4 just putting the cap on it. thought about turning off earlier but there was too much of a crowd in there.

Thanks to the crowd for being so up for it see ya next time!
