For well over a decade Afresco Mantis have positioned themselves as far away from the mainstream music scene, as they have from the underground.

Their roots lie in the field of stoned spaced out sound experimentation, and their unique style of dark synthesized journey music has been a welcome alternative for those who always thought that diversity had disappeared from the all too predictable music world.

The sound at question is very spacey, often chaotic, and often ambient; yet it flows atmospherically through this ambient/chaos without giving a definite inclination that it is doing so. It is more of a subtle evolution of sound, and it is wired for the headphone experience, with an occasional jazz woodbine, yet it is equally, if not more direct and energized in the live environment.

Their live sets over the years have enthralled audiences from pub gig to festival circuit, and their music never fails to entice new space cadets wherever it is played, regardless of venue.
