the endgame are difficult to categorise but have been described as ‘angst-ridden’, ‘seriously inventive’ and, at times, ‘ethereal’. Their music contains elements of indie, rock, blues and even soul. Vocals reminiscent of a gutsy Chrissie Hynde, imaginative guitar riffs, memorable hook-lines and some charismatic bass and drums all combine to create a wide range of light and shade. Not surprising, then, that this band are known for their engaging presence on stage. They have played most of the significant music venues in the North of England, including the nationally-renowned (and much missed) Riverside, arts centres, pubs, theatres and universities. They have also recorded four live sessions for BBC radio. In fact, after a couple of years’ of pursuing other projects, the endgame have only recently returned to gigging, with a range of brand new material that they are, at present, in the studio recording.
