In Zen Buddhism 10,000 things is a term meaning all phenomenal reality.   It is also the Daoist level of infinity, infinite potential and abundance.

Got that?

10,000 Things are making music again now Sam Riley has finished the filming Control a profile of Ian Curtis (Sam Riley), the enigmatic singer of Joy Division whose personal, professional, and romantic troubles led him to commit suicide at the age of 23.

10,000 Things formed four years ago when the six members, hailing from Bradford, Blackpool and the Black Isle, Leicester, London and Leeds first began jamming in Leeds bars, cellars, living rooms, pubs...and a church. Moving in together soon after they began to establish their current reputation as the best live Rock and Roll band in town.

They released a debut EP, Food Chain, on Domino records in 2003, produced by Phil Brown who has not only worked with The Rolling Stones but Bob Marley and The Wailers, The Small Faces, Led Zeppelin and Sly and the Family Stone, credentials which would impress any Rock and Roll band. This was followed by many nationwide tours beginning with The "Night Of The Things" tour with "The Living Things" from the U.S.A and subsequently the legendary Blueskins and Cribs tours, Wakefield, West Yorkshire's finest. The Things attitude to live shows remains that there is no gig too small and no gig too big as recent large support slots, festival appearances, constant national touring and occasional trips to Europe proved, with "The Things" receiving pretty unanimous approval from crowds and local press alike. >

The band have received almost as many different comparisons as their name suggests, from "Beefheart meets The Buzzcocks" and "Rancid play Billy Ray-Cyrus" to "Otis with a Mohican" and "Bill Hicks meets The Rolling Stones." etc.

10,000 Things compare themselves to no-one exclusively, combining the best of the past with their own unique take on contemporary Rock and Roll. They write about the mundane and the magical, the every day and the extra-terrestrial, with an equal blend of humour, irreverence, wit, profanity and sarcasm.

"10,000 Things" are; Sam Riley, 24 (vocals) Will Newman, 24 (guitar) Gareth 'Davro' Davies 24 (guitar) George Riley, 23 (bass) Justin Jackson, 26 (percussion) and Alistair 'Stobb' Stobbart, 23 (drums.)

"There's only six of them, thank fuck! " John Holmes, Leeds Student Newspaper.""
