The Tribe of Tat
A creative collective
The tribe consists of a core group of professional artists who work together to maintain the tribe vibe, organise our work schedule and create décor, devise workshops etc.

 Our core tribe members are:

 Ben Parkinson (music and circus)

Dave Thornley (arts and circus)

Gem Webb (music and circus)

Oli Valentine (circus)

Zoë McIntosh (arts)

We are a co-operative collective in every sense, we have no leaders or followers, just a community of like-minded creative folks who love working together.

The Tribe
Why do we call ourselves a tribe? We like the tribe vibe, it encourages us to work together as a community, and helps us to teach others to do the same. We draw our philosophy from tribal cultures past and present, taking inspiration from tribal skills, arts and culture. We like the idea that even if you just play with us for a day, you get the opportunity to drop your everyday persona and choose a new tribal identity, let your imagination run wild and try something new.

The Tat

Tat definition: stuff, (especially stuff that you don’t want to throw away because it might be useful, you just don’t know how yet!) All the Tribe of Tat crew are firm believers in DIY culture, by this we mean the option of creating your own culture if the one you’ve got isn’t working for you, not putting up shelves! We believe that it’s important to recognise that your own creative abilities are the best resource you have. There’s no need to be bored if you’ve got some tat and a bit of imagination.
